On Call - variety of shifts available
Residential Counselors help clients identify goals that promote recovery and assist them in identifying services and activities to help reach these goals. Assist clients in obtaining, maintaining, and/or using appropriate mental health, general health, and other community resources relevant to their goals. Provide counseling, outreach, crisis intervention assistance, stabilization assistance; assist and support use of medical, community and natural supports, and facilitate psycho-education groups/classes. All services are provided under the supervision of a Mental Health Professional.
This position also requires the following knowledge and skills: knowledge of mental disorders and substance abuse issues, effective counseling skills, ability to assess and teach independent living skills, good interpersonal communication skills, and good computer-user skills. Prefer knowledge of Pierce County public mental health system, community resources, and recovery-based and trauma-informed models of care. Prefer having reliable personal auto, driver's license, good driving record, and personal auto insurance. Prefer AA degree in social services related field and 1 year experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
